For my Autoethnography, I look to interview my Grandpa and his best friend Marty, both children of the Great Depression. I hope to gain insight on their early childhood and that of their family as well. Their struggles, times of joy and ordinary days all combine to tell a great story about their past. I hope to discover how there lives during the depression; this troublesome, hectic and anxious time truly affects their lives to this very day. There past stories and experiences are a crucial part of their makeup, and should never be forgotten. Marty and my grandfather’s outlook on the value of money and their work ethic just a few of their characteristics that I believe are true reflections of their past. I see this as an interesting and necessary story to tell!
